Itinerary

    1. Arrival & Check-In (20 minutes before start)

      • Arrive early for ID check, booking confirmation, and a quick policy review.

    2. Orientation & Safety Demo (≈15 minutes)

      • Fast walkthrough of controls and features.

      • Trail map handoff + safety reminders.

      • You’re on the trail quickly.

    3. Trail Ride (Remainder of rental)

      • Explore at your own pace; take breaks for water, snacks, and photos.

    4. Return & Check-Out (By scheduled return time)

      • Vehicles must be returned within 15 minutes of the scheduled return time (unless otherwise notified).

      • Quick inspection and check-in wrap-up.

  • Closed-Toe Shoes – Required for safety (no sandals or flip-flops). Boots or sturdy sneakers are best.

    Long Pants & Long-Sleeve Shirt – Protects against brush, branches, and sunburn.

    Neck Gaiter or Bandana – Helps with dust and fits comfortably under your helmet (helmets & goggles are provided).

    Light Jacket or Sweatshirt – Weather in Northern Michigan can change quickly; be ready for cooler temps or rain.


    Small Backpack with Essentials:

    • Water (stay hydrated on the trail)

    • Snacks (quick energy boosts)

    • Bug spray (mosquito & tick protection)

    • Sunscreen (UV protection, even on cloudy days)

    Optional Extras:

    • Gloves for grip and hand protection

    • Phone mount or GoPro to capture your ride

    • Extra pair of socks in case of mud or water crossings

Booking & Requirements

  • You must be 25 or older with a valid driver’s license to rent and sign a rental agreement.

    • Minors (under 18): A parent or legal guardian must be present to sign the release of liability.

    • Passengers: Riders as young as 2 years old are welcome, as long as they are in a front-facing car seat. If a child still uses a car seat or booster, it must be securely installed in the rear seat.

    • All drivers must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Yes — all drivers must have a valid driver’s license at the time of rental.

  • Yes! You can easily book your ATV rental right on our website.

  • We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance to secure your preferred ATV and time slot. While last-minute rentals are sometimes available, you’ll need to book at least 2 hours before your desired start time.

Rates & Payments

  • Your rental includes:

    • Trail Map for your ride

    • ATV/Side-by-Side Orientation & Safety Demo before your rental

    • Fuel for the duration of your rental

    • The ATV model you selected for the full duration of your booking

    • Pick-up and drop-off at Cadillac West Staging (Trail 35), 27 Rd Trailhead (Trail 6), and Boon Country Store (Boon, MI)

    • Standard Insurance Coverage (already included in your rental price)

    • Helmets – Available as an add-on for $10

    • Goggles – Available as an add-on for $25

    • Riding Gear – Boots, gloves, long pants, and protective clothing

    • Food & Drinks – Please bring your own water and snacks

    • Optional Delivery Fees – Drop-off/pick-up at certain trailheads may include an additional charge

  • Yes. A $X damage deposit is required for every rental. While no one plans to damage an ORV, accidents can happen.

    • The renter is responsible for all damages to the rented vehicle, as well as any passengers, other persons, or vehicles involved in an accident.

    • In the event of an accident, any remaining rental time and the $X deposit will be forfeited.

    • If repair costs exceed the deposit amount, the renter will be charged for the remaining balance.

  • We accept all major credit cards for your convenience.

Safety & Equipment

  • Yes — helmets and goggles are available to rent

  • No prior ATV experience is required — just bring a valid driver’s license and be ready for an adventure.

  • To keep your ATV rental safe and enjoyable, please follow these rules:

    Driver & Age Requirements

    • You must have a valid driver’s license to rent or drive (learner’s permits are not accepted).

    • Renters must be 18 or older.

    • Drivers must be 16 or older with a valid driver’s license.

    • Anyone under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present to sign the release of liability. No exceptions.

    Passenger & Weight Limits

    • Follow the designated weight capacity for your vehicle: 500 lbs for 2-seat models, 1,100 lbs for 4-seat models.

    • Passengers as young as 2 years old are allowed if in a front-facing child safety seat (installed in the rear seat of 4-seat models only; not permitted in 2-seat models).

    • Michigan child safety seat laws apply.

    Rental Policies

    • Minimum rental period: 2 hours.

    • The ATV assigned to you must be returned — no substitutions.

    • A $750 security deposit is required per vehicle before departure. It will be refunded after inspection if the vehicle is returned undamaged.

    • Riding is not recommended for pregnant women.

    Other Information

    • We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and cash (no checks).

    • Reservations are recommended, especially during peak season (mid-June through early August) and busy holiday weekends.

  • Cadillac West Staging (Trail 35)
    Large lot, south of M-55 on 33 Rd. Immediate access to forest trails.

    27 Rd Trailhead (Trail 6)
    6 mi west of Cadillac, north on 27 Rd, seasonal road lot.

    Boon Country Store (Boon, MI)
    Central location in Boon.

  • The following locations are available as paid pick-up and drop-off locations.

    Ellen’s Corners (Mesick, M-115 & M-37) – $50

    Coyote Crossings – $75

    Lost Pine Lodge – $75

    Airbnb Delivery/Pick-Up – $150 

Cancellations & Policies

    • Cancellations: If you cancel after making a reservation, you’ll receive a gift certificate (no expiration) or the option to reschedule.

    • No-Shows: If you don’t call and miss your reservation, you will be considered a no-call/no-show and will not receive any refund or credit.

    • Weather: Rentals operate in the rain. If conditions are deemed unsafe by us or the DNR, we will cancel your rental and issue a full refund. If possible, we’ll work with you to reschedule or issue a gift certificate.
